In my view anything that asks for a registration fee to take up a business online is surely to be a scam. I have personally being scammed after which I stopped checking out such business sites. But surely there are some genuine businesses online.

Those sites that ask you to pay for something have a great chance of being a scam.  Remember the general rule; if you are looking for a job then you shouldn’t pay for anything.  This is just the same off line or online.

Most of the ones you see advertised are scams, especially the ones that look really good.  Never pay any fees - that is the first sign that it is a scam.  There are some legitimate jobs out there, though.  You should seek out some of the forums or websites available where people actually discuss certain businesses and can tell you firsthand how they operate.

I agree with what u all have said.  I was wondering if any of you have found any good legitimate sites?

Even those that are not scams tend to pay very poorly. So it is good for some pocket money perhaps, but I can't imagine anyone being able to live on it.

Some are making real money online.  You just have to investigate the company first before joining them.  You can be data encoder, transcriber, and call center agent.  The list goes on, from what I know there are many ways to earn online.  You just have to learn the INS and out.

Thats true Chocoguy all we need to do is research about a particular site before we can actually join anything. Someone might have specified about such sites somewhere online fore sure.

I've read that medical transcription is something that is largely  now being done by people on their home computers. I think it would take about two years to complete a course. If you were conversant in medical terms and don't mind listening to a doctor dictating while he's eating his lunch you could probably make a pretty good living at it.

Some of the sure way to get a job online is by applying at sites like Getafreelance, Nerdlance, and Scriptlance. Although they are just temporary but if you do your job very well you might end up finding a lot of work.

I think that like everything else in life, it needs to be researched and care has to be taken.

There are risks, but they need to be weighed.  And I guess the best thing to remember is that if it seems too good to be true, it surely is. Places that promise huge sums of money are usually hokey because real income doesn't come free or easy.

Actually in our country, all you just need to spend 6 months if you are already in the medical field, 1 year for those college graduate, and 2 years if you are a high school graduate.

It can be done in a shorter period if you like home study school.

Some of those places end up offering more work in the future, yes.  Writing is a "real" job, so money can be made with that. Sometimes there are schemes that they try to pass off as "working at home" though, and it just isn't the same thing and are often scams.

That is a short amount of time to study before you are qualified to be a transcriptionist. People in your country should really look into this.

If you want to be a transcriptionist then the first thing that you should do is to keep practicing on your typing speed. Transcription companies needs people who are a fast typist.
